Erica’s formal education and training includes a BFA from Northern Kentucky University and an MA in Art Therapy from The George Washington University. She is credentialed as a licensed, board certified art therapist and as a registered hatha yoga instructor. Expressive therapists are healthcare professionals who have formal training in psychotherapy, human development, clinical practice, and the arts.  In addition to her yoga teacher training at Charm City Yoga in Baltimore, MD, Erica has studied extensively with Swami Jnaneshvara Bharati in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and in Rishikesh, India.  Swami Jnaneshvara teaches in the Himalayan Masters Tradition, introduced to the West by Swami Rama of the Himalayas.

As a seasoned therapist and yoga teacher, Erica combines the expressive arts therapies and yoga practice with a quest and enthusiasm to guide her clients to experience life to the fullest.  She has an intuitive gift and a keen sense of listening to and understanding people which allows her to guide the client to specifically tailored practices to empower them and facilitate those “ah-ha” moments of self-awareness.

In her professional practice, Erica desires to be of service in assisting/guiding people to understand and remove barriers to their happiness and contentment.  She finds that the union of images/metaphors in the practice of art therapy with breath/body awareness in the practice of yoga offers a unique experience that allows the client to bypass the critical, judgmental part of the mind, which is difficult to do in traditional verbal therapy.
